The Wilmington Planning and Zoning Commission is a group of individuals appointed by the mayor with council approval that work with the City Planner, Attorney and Engineer.
Zoning Types:
A-1 Agricultural District
E-R Estate Residential District (20,000 square foot minimum lot size)
G-R General Residential District (12,500 square foot minimum lot size)
R-1 Residential District (10,000 square foot minimum lot size)
R-2 Residential District (7,500 square foot minimum lot size)
R-3 Residential District (single-family and two-family)
R-4 Residential District (townhouse)
R-5 Residential District (multifamily)
R-B Restricted Business District
B-1 Neighborhood Commercial District
B-2 Light Commercial District
B-2A Central Business District
B-3 General Commercial District
I-1 Office, Research and Light Industrial District
I-2 Light Industrial District
I-3 Heavy Industrial District
